Oman Property – Investment in an Emerging Tourist Market

The number of tourism related investments in the Gulf is at an all time high as investors seek to profit from the region's growth in visitor numbers. MEED Projects shows a total of $194 billion projects are planned or underway across the GCC. At $2bn, the Yenkit Tourism Development is Oman's largest tourism project. The development is a joint venture between Dubai's Majid Al Futtaim Group and Omani investors. It will create a five-star tourism complex, with four hotels over 950ha along the coast, 20km south-east of the Omani capital in Muscat.

  • Oman boasts over 1,700km of pristine coastline and a variety of landscapes beyond the archetypal wind-blown desert scrub. The nation is divided into three main areas:
  • Muscat embraces regal forts and shallow sandy beaches.
    Dhofar to the south verdant features woodland and freshwater creeks
    Musandam attracts tourists who enjoy a spot of bay side fishing and camping.
